This conference looks at moving forward with Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) in a hospital setting. Electronic Prescribing has the potential to support the medicines use process that can be delivered at every stage from prescribing to administration. Electronic Prescribing can provide management of prescriptions and will also give immediate access to medicines information.

Dr Masood Nazir Clinical Informatics Advisor to the NHS Commissioning Board will open the conference with a focus on the role of Electronic Prescribing in delivering the Paperless NHS by 2017 including a where electronic prescribing fits into electronic patient records. The sessions will provide delegates with the understanding of how to implement Electronic Prescribing by focusing on topics such as developing the business case for Electronic Prescribing and learning from experienced implementers. There will be case studies on Electronic Prescribing which will highlight the clinical benefits and engaging the clinical staff. Delegates will also have an opportunity to hear from other healthcare experts who will look into different strategies for implementation of Electronic Prescribing.
