Leading Effective Integration: Free Breakfast Masterclass

This FREE Breakfast Leadership Masterclass will focus on how leaders can support their teams and staff to work effectively together when services are integrating, to deliver better patient care.
This meeting is one of a series of Masterclasses run by Tavistock Consulting - part of Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust - in response to demand for ‘leading through transition’ programmes in today’s NHS.
The integration of services, departments and functions is a key part of transformation in the NHS today. This creates new demands of the leaders and advisors involved, as they aim to help high performing teams emerge from the changes. Our Leading Effective Integration Masterclass will provide insights into how to support and lead your teams, so that you and they feel able to work effectively with the dynamics and assumptions that naturally appear (e.g. resistance and conflict) when separate functions merge or join.
The Masterclass will bring together Directors, HR and Organisational Development Managers and Leads, and Senior Managers to look at the ways in which new, integrated modes of delivery actually impact on staff behaviours, motivation and effectiveness. We will share proven approaches to use with your people and teams, so they become better able to develop more effective patient care and support, during and after integration. We’ll show you how to help teams move towards a shared vision and open team working, and provide tools and approaches that you can apply to similar situations.
We will particularly focus on why getting to a shared vision, genuine inter-team and intra-team trust, and a new shared identity can be challenging, and on how to help lift newly integrating teams out of separate thinking and towards productive collaboration. Live case study work will also take place during the Masterclass, and material from delegates’ own organisations will be used.
Delegates will leave with:-
- a clearer understanding of where and how natural challenges within integration often appear
- new perspectives and questions to ask to help teams feel able and open to collaborating
- insights into how other services across the NHS and local authorities are already successfully working with similar situations
- some thinking already done on how to identify and foster the enabling factors of trust and collaboration in staff teams
