“The number of people aged 65 and over is projected to rise by over 40% in the next 17 years to more than
16 million. Thirty percent of people aged 65 and over will fall at least once a year. For those aged 80 and over it is 50%. A fall can lead to pain, distress, loss of confidence and lost independence. In around 5% of cases a fall leads to fracture and hospitalisation.”
Professor Martin J Vernon National Clinical Director for Older People, 2017

This interactive and practical course facilitated by a Healthcare Solicitor will provide a structured approach to incident investigation with a specific focus on falls incidents. The course will feature falls specific case studies and ensure delegates understand how to investigate and analyse the problems and contributory factors involved in falls. Delegates will be guided through gathering the evidence, conducting a detailed analysis of the issues and evidence and production of the final report.

The methodology taught will be one that can be incorporated into the health professional’s working day.

Delegate Feedback
“When I attended the RCA course last year, it actually changed a huge area of my practice and understanding. To the point where I have led in Essex such a radical change to the reporting and the documentation of the serious harm falls, that our CCG loved it so much they have used it as their policy. You guys do such excellent conferences! “ Mid Essex Hospital
