“The role of a clinical director can be a pivotal one. They are a vital bridge between clinical and medical teams, patients and the board. Uniquely placed to act as an instrumental link that can make or break a new strategy or improvement plan.” ..........“There are significant demands placed on clinical directors both internally and externally, ranging from smaller staffing issues, to dealing with a serious untoward incident. In some cases, they can be dealing with a large workforce with competing interests and demands without the management experience or skills to help them deal with such challenges.”

What makes a top Clinical Director? Faculty for Medical Leadership and Management
