Liberty Protection Safeguards: Implications for Care Homes Masterclass

This Conference is now Closed

On 1st October 2020 the Liberty Protection Safeguards (‘LPS’) will come into force, replacing DoLS to provide a new legal framework for deprivation of liberty, imposing new responsibilities and requiring new working arrangements between care homes and local authorities and clinical commissioning groups.
This masterclass will equip care homes effectively to implement the LPS.

The LPS system introduces new structures, roles, and responsibilities, including new relationships between local authorities, clinical commissioning groups and care homes. The LPS system enables delegation to care home managers of the process of coordinating the assessment process in some circumstances.
