“Currently many people with fractures are asked to attend a next-day clinic led by a consultant, although it is believed that a virtual clinic may be at least as effective…face-to-face clinics may be an unnecessary use of time and resources for both patients and the NHS” NICE

“Virtual Fracture Clinics (VFCs) are an alternative to the conventional fracture clinics, to manage certain musculoskeletal injuries. This has recently been reported as a safe, cost-effective and efficient care model.” BMJ Quality Improvement Programme Adopting and sustaining a Virtual Fracture Clinic model in the District Hospital setting – a quality improvement approach

Chaired by Mr Bibhas Roy Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Virtual Fracture Clinic Lead at Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, this conference focuses on setting up, running and improving the effectiveness of Virtual Fracture Clinics.  Virtual clinics are increasingly being used in healthcare to reduce outpatient appointments, reduce DNA rates, save money and ensure the patients that do need to be seen face to face by a consultant have enough dedicated time.
