“There is considerable room for improvement in crisis care services, with nearly four in 10 services being rated as requires improvement (35%) or inadequate (4%) for safety.” Care Quality Commission July 2017.  Read in full here

“Nowhere within mental health care is the issue of parity more important than in the provision of urgent and emergency care for people experiencing a mental health crisis. Proper funding for mental health crisis care and its full integration within NHS urgent and emergency care was one of the commitments made in the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health…… Never before has timely access to high quality mental health care been accepted as so necessary by the whole health and social care community. Now we, as commissioners, providers, health and social care workers and partners across the whole urgent and emergency care pathway, must rise to this challenge and meet these expectations.” Professor Tim Kendall National Clinical Director for Mental Health (Achieving Better Access to 24/7 Urgent and Emergency Mental Health Care – Part 2: Implementing the Evidence-based Treatment Pathway for Urgent and Emergency Liaison Mental Health Services for Adults and Older Adults – Guidance)

This conference takes a practical case study based approach to improving the access and outcomes for people with mental health conditions requiring urgent and crisis care. The day will focus on improving access to services for mental health crisis care, through learning from organisations that have succeeded in addressing the challenge of improving access, personal accounts of service users experiences and looking at ways external organisations can work jointly with the NHS to provide great care.

This conference will enable you to:

  • Network with colleagues working to improve outcomes and access to crisis care for people with mental health conditions
  • Learn from established practice how to fully integrate mental health crisis care within NHS urgent and emergency care
  • Understand and reflect on what you need to do to within your organization to improve access to services

  • Identify key strategies for improvement in improving crisis care in Mental Health
  • Reflect on how you can work with people to give integrated care in co-ordination with other organisations
  • Understand what works in smoking cessation
  • Self assess and reflect on your own practice
  • Gain CPD accreditation points contributing to professional development and revalidation evidence

100% of delegates at our previous conference on this subject would recommend it to a colleague
