All you need to know about Electronic Document Management: experiences at Liverpool Heart and Chest NHS Foundation Trust
Dr Johan Waktare Consultant Cardiologist, Chief Clinical Information Officer and Clinical Lead for EPR at Liverpool Heart and Chest NHS Foundation Trust will be presenting ‘All you need to know about Electronic Document Management: The options and integration of notes and records into EPR systems’ at the Electronic Document Management in Healthcare conference on Wednesday 9 December 2015 at ICO Conference Centre, London.
Dr Waktare will share his experiences of where to start with implementation: what are the options? the options: back scan active, back scan all, back scan on demand or don’t back scan at all, how to integrate historical notes and records into EPR systems, the resource and clinical implications of the various options, onsite v offsite scanning and the implications for patient confidentiality.
Following NHS England’s commitment to a paperless NHS, this one day conference focuses on a practical guide to delivering intelligent electronic document management in your organisation. The delivery of clinical care is no longer from a single place with a single record location but from multiple sites (including the patients own home) and the electronic record needs to be available in these multiple sites to improve patient care and aid clinical decision making in real time.
“All NHS funded care services are expected to have digital and interoperable systems that remove the limitations of paper records and slow bureaucratic systems by 2020.” 13th November 2014, Department of Health
