Chris Fokke Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust discusses Clinical Data Capture at the point of care in practice
Chris Fokke Chief Clinical Information Officer Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust discusses Clinical Data Capture at the point of care in practice:
- the options and clinical benefits
- integration into the digital patient record
- engaging clinicians and frontline staff
- how to maximise the benefits
In his presentation Chris stated:
"We try to feed all of our electronic systems into the Discharge Summary"
"Next step will be smart discharge planning"
"2018, paper light is more realistic than paperless"
"My vision is every hospital bed having its own terminal. Patients engaged as well so it's a patient sentry device but is multi disciplinary so clinicians can use as well"
"Advice would be to let the EPR be clinically driven, so they see what they would like to see"
"Need to move to text analytics. Coders spend 20 mins per patient but only 5 minutes of that is actually coding"
