Clinical Ownership of Clinical and Costing Data

Andrew Tapp Consultant Obstetrician at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust will be presenting work he has been involved in on ensuring clinical ownership of clinical and costing data at the national ‘Data Quality and Clinical Coding for Improvement’ conference to be held in Manchester in December. 

Andrew will discuss the impact of poor clinical coding on trust finances and outlier position, and how to help and support clinicians with coding and data ownership. 

The CPD certified conference will focus on delivering high quality hospital data in practice and will open with a keynote address from Geraint Lewis Chief Data Officer NHS England which will include an update on the national programme which will bring together securely, health and social care information to learn from for NHS improvement.  Further information on the programme is available at
