This important national conference provides an essential update for current and aspiring nurse/non medical prescribers on prescribing for wound care. Wound care is a growing area of non medical prescribing and one of the most common areas, it essential that nurse prescribers maintain the competence and skills to prescribe for wound management in an effective way, working with patients to improve wound management outcomes.

Through national updates and practical case studies including acute care, district nursing and community, pressure ulcer management, wound care, oncology pressure ulcers & malignant wounds, moisture lesions and venous eczema the conference will look at how to develop and maintain prescribing competence, and how to develop effectiveness in post qualification practice. Delegates will also explore how to apply the Competency Framework for all Prescribers to wound care. The Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s Competency Framework for all Prescribers was recently adopted as the NMC’s standards of competency for prescribing practice which will come into effect from 28 January 2019.
