A Practical Guide to the Prevention and Management of Leg Ulcers

Thu, 26 Sep 2024

Virtual, Online

This conference will provide a practical guide to the prevention and management of leg ulcers and will support you to improve healing rates, reduce reoccurance rates and reduce the burden of leg ulcers on patients. The conference will discuss the development of dedicated leg ulcer services and clinical pathways and ensure competence and confidence in practice from identification, through management and following healing.

“Patients can struggle for years with leg ulcers that best practice could have healed within weeks. Venous leg ulcers are a chronic condition and almost inevitably recur without preventive measures, with up to 69% of leg ulcers recurring annually.”

Consensus Document: Transforming Leg Ulcer Care, Nursing Times

“Venous leg ulcers are estimated to affect around 1 in 500 people in the UK, although they become much more common with age. It's estimated around 1 in 50 people over the age of 80 has one”
