Healthcare Conferences UK in association with Christopher Fincken, Independent Member UK Caldicott Guardian Council, (Chairman 2012-2017) are pleased to announce the National Caldicott Guardian Leadership Summit 2019. Following the success of our previous Caldicott Guardian National Conferences, and feedback from our regular Caldicott Training Masterclasses, this conference will focus on developing your role as a Caldicott Guardian and developing your skills in leading the Caldicott function in your organisation.

This summit will enable you to:

  • Network with fellow Caldicott Guardians and those working to deliver the Caldicott Role
  • Learn from established practice in the delivery of Caldicott Principles
  • Understand and reflect on what makes an Excellent Caldicott Guardian
  • Update your knowledge on national developments
  • Develop, self assess and fine tune your leadership skills
  • Understand your role and responsibilities with regard to the Care Quality Commission Key Lines of Enquiry
  • Understand how to improve awareness of your role and engage clinical teams
  • Identify key strategies for dealing with difficult issues, leading when things go wrong, and managing ethical decision making
  • Reflect on the Caldicott Role in Safeguarding and working with police
  • Ensure the patient is at the centre of decision making around information sharing
  • Understand the legal issues around caldicott decision making including the duty of candour
  • Self assess and reflect on your own practice
  • Gain CPD accreditation points contributing to professional development and revalidation evidence

Location
thestudio is located about 50 yards up Cannon Street (from New Street) on the right or 50 yards down from House of Fraser on the left.
By Rail
There are three railway stations within walking distance of thestudio: Birmingham New Street, Snow Hill and Moor Street. New Street Station is just three minute walk from thestudio.
By Road
There are several car parks within walking distance of thestudio. We recommend either NCP High Street, or NCP Londonderry House both around five minutes walk away. The postcode for satnav is B4 7LN and B4 7LX. The Mailbox car park is also only a 10 minute walk.
