Artificial Intelligence in Medical Imaging and Clinical Radiology 
Dr Qaiser Malik, 
Member of the Clinical Radiology Professional Learning and Development Committee, Royal College of Radiologists; and Clinical Director, Radiology MSB group

Clinical Director for Radiology for MSE group (Mid Essex, Southend and Basildon). Responsible for a department of 60 radiologists, 500 staff and £37m budget. Hon Senior Clinical Lecturer for UCL Medical School. 

Lead Medical Appraiser for BTUH for 450 doctors. 

Dr Malik is MSK specialist radiologist and has been on the executive committee for the British Society of Skeletal Radiologists.

Qaiser also lectures extensively Nationally and Internationally and has served on the Royal College of Radiologists Scientific Programme Committee as well as the Newsletter Editor. Dr Malik has a specialist interest in Sports Imaging and performs all types of MSK Imaging, including MSK Ultrasound and MRI. This includes MSK Ultrasound guided interventions such as Steroid and PRP injections.

Dr Neelam Dugar, 
Consultant Radiologist & Clinical PACS Lead
Doncaster & Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Dr. Neelam Dugar is a Consultant Radiologist & Clinical Lead for RIS and PACS at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Trust. She is the Informatics Advisor at the Royal College of Radiologists. She takes a keen interest in Health Informatics, and has a technical knowledge of standards like HL7, DICOM, FHIR and XDS. She was Chairman of UK Imaging Informatics Group 2007-2012, and Vice President of Informatics Stream of the UK Radiological Congress UKRC 2013-2015. She provided leadership for her hospital to replace PACS and RIS, and implement XDS based Vendor Neutral Archive(VNA) in 2013.  VNA allows integration of multispecialty  images and documents together thus enabling an Enterprise Imaging Strategy.  She has tried to influence the direction of radiology informatics both nationally and internationally. She has written many articles on Artificial Intelligence and how it would change radiology for the better.

Pre-event abstract
In this presentation, Dr Lip details some background into the Breast Screening Programme and it's suitability for the application of AI. He will look at some of the recent publications in the field and detail the work of iCaird in developing the safe haven model for evaluating AI solutions in a controlled environment where patient data is protected. He will also discuss why the Scottish Breast Screening Programme is ideally placed to leverage the benefits of AI.
