Job Title: Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional
Locations of work: Surrey, West Midlands, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
Salary range: £34,700 - £40,270 Per Annum (Salary dependent on previous experience)
 
Shift Pattern:
If you're struggling to maintain a good work-life balance and are looking for clearer boundaries, then this role could be for you. The 4-on-4-off rota pattern will give you the ability to plan your personal life months in advance. The shift pattern comprises of 2-day shifts, 2-night shifts then 4 days off.
Full time and Part time applications will be considered

Working in Police custody
Custody is dynamic and lively environment, with no two days the same. The police can detain individuals for up to 24 hours and within this time, we provide a high level of care to detainees and their needs, which can vary from drug/alcohol dependency, to acute medical episodes. Our dedicated healthcare professionals are also fully trained to collect forensic samples which can assist the police with their investigations.
Each day is different, and your skill-set will be crucial at helping you navigate the considerations needed for both healthcare needs and as part of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
You will work closely alongside the police as an autonomous practitioner delivering healthcare within a busy police custody suite.

Essential & Desirable Experience
Previous experience in any of the following would be ideal to assist you in the role; A&E, Walk in Centre, Paramedic Practitioner, Substance Misuse, Community Nursing, Police Custody, Prison, or other relevant discipline.

Training & Development
You will be appointed a mentor and receive regular supervision, with 24/7 access to call senior clinicians, where a second opinion is needed.
We believe all of our colleagues should have access to training to support their development, therefore, we have implemented a comprehensive training programme with an established career structure, which will enable you to become a forensic practitioner. Regardless of working hours, each colleague will also have the opportunity apply for funding for external courses.
