The new Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF), a major piece of guidance on how NHS organisations respond to patient safety incidents, and ensure compassionate engagement with those affected, is being published in August 2022.
The transition period to the new PSIRF is set to start in September, with an expectation that all organisations will fully transition by August 2023.
The final version of the framework was created following a testing phase, with early adopter sites piloting the guidance between March 2022 and June 2022.
The updated framework document and associated guidance, templates and tools will be available on the NHS England website once published.
