Join us for the 2024 annual conference. As ever , for those who can attend in person there will be an opportunity to meet friends and colleagues and for all it is a great opportunity  to hear talks from expert practitioners on current substantive employment law issues and hear the perspective of the senior judiciary.

Topics will include:

  • Human Rights

  • EAT Review of the Year

  • AI and Employment Law

11 May - Saturday Daytime Delegates
The conference will take place at the Liver Suite in the Royal Liver Building. We are delighted that Lord Justice Singh will deliver the keynote address, focussing upon the very topical issue of human rights. Other sessions include a dive into AI with a talk by Dee Masters from Cloisters on AI and Employment Rights; Talks on judicial recruitment and career progression from the JAC; a Q&A session – where we will hear from practitioners with 360-degree feedback. In addition, our Presidents will be addressing us, and we’ll hear from the President and judges of the EAT who will be running the ever popular EAT annual roadshow.

In person will be £150 and virtual attendance will be £100.

The CEJ AGM will be a little earlier this year to ensure you have plenty of time to prepare for the Conference Dinner! Anyone can log in to this without attending the conference.

Saturday Daytime – Non Delegates
Whilst judges are busy, our partners will have the opportunity to join an organised walking tour of historic Liverpool followed by lunch. The cost for this trip is £17 a head. In the afternoon, there will be free time to explore Liverpool with suggested activities including the Beatles Tour for any Fab Four fans; a tour of Liverpool’s two cathedrals – the Anglican which is the biggest in the UK and the Catholic – affectionately known as Paddy’s Wigwam, or a visit to the Royal Albert Dock and Liverpool One, for shopping enthusiasts.

Saturday Dinner
All (£75 a head to include wine with dinner, dress code “Smart”)

A three-course dinner will be held in the Liver Suite at the Royal Liver Building with incredible views across the river.

Our entertainment this evening is brought to you by Roseanna Auckland who, you may remember, sang for us at the York conference in 2019.

The niece of Employment Judge Jonathan Brain's wife Jane, Roseanna trained in musical theatre at the SLP (Studio la Pointe) performing arts college in Leeds from where she went on to perform in various shows throughout the UK. This was followed by work on cruise ships. Her talents were spotted and she was rewarded by joining a production cast on board a prestigious vessel travelling around Asia in which she performed as lead vocalist and dancer. When returning to the UK she went on to work for various production companies performing in The Greatest Showman, Motown, and other musical shows. Currently Roseanna continues to perform in the UK and internationally both with bands and as a soloist, and is a dancer and choreographer in a production of Here Come the Girls.

Roseanna is absolutely thrilled to be back singing for us once again.
