Data Protection & UK GDPR Compliance and Data Security & Protection Toolkit (DSPT) - Completion, Submission and Publication for Dentistry, Ophthalmology and Pharmacy

The course is an overview of what is required for UK GDPR/Data Protection 2018 Compliance and ICB contractual requirements for the completion of the DSPT.

DSPT completion is a contractual requirement that has been agreed with the commissioning organisations to provide NHS Clinical and educational services. The DSPT view is based on the category 3 evidence items.

The Course will look at compliance with current legislation and guidance, to enable the better understanding of Data Protection, Privacy and Cyber Security and DSPT contractual requirement.

Overview of legislation – how applies in the NHS

  • UK GDPR, DPA2018, Health & Care Act. 2022 & Human Rights Act.

  • UK GDPR Principles & Individual Rights.

  • Applying technical & organisational measures to protect data.

  • Applying Caldicott and UK GDPR Principles

  • Processing & Information Sharing with other Care Providers, Police, ICBs and Others and the legal basis

  • Role of the Information Commissioners Office

Compliance requires completion of

  • Data Protection Impact Assessments,

  • Records Management (Record of Processing)

  • Data Breach Management

  • Data Security & Protection Toolkit (DSPT)
