Tier 1 will need to be completed before attending this course
Olivers training is about awareness and understanding of learning disabilities and autism. It will give staff the right knowledge and skills to ensure people with a learning disability and/or autism have positive health and social care interactions.
Both the Learning Disability session and the Autism session will be co-facilitated with someone who has relevant lived experience, and reflects the learning outcomes set out in “Right to be Heard” (DHSC, 2019)
Tier 2 of The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training is required for health and social care staff, including those in CQC-registered settings, who provide direct care, support, or make decisions about services for people with a learning disability and autistic people. It is tailored for staff with patient-facing roles, such as social workers and clinical staff. You must have completed Tier 1 training before you can attend Tier 2.
