The role of the nursing associate is governed by nursing and midwifery council code on professional standards. Our roles are in enshrined in law. The code talks of 4 main principles;

  • Prioritise people
  • Practise effectively
  • Preserve safety
  • Promote professionalism and trust

The NA role is a new profession and is accountable for their practice. It is a registry profession in its own right.
