World Mental Health Day, established by the World Health Organisation, takes place every year on 10th October. It aims to raise awareness of mental health issues, mobilise efforts to support mental wellbeing, and advocate for accessible, high quality mental health care for all.
This year’s global theme, set by the World Health Organisation and led in the UK by the Mental Health Foundation, focuses on ‘Mental health is a universal human right'. Find out more here
"Every day, 17 people die by suicide in the UK. Of those, five are in contact with mental health services, and four of those five (80%) are assessed as ‘low’ or ‘no’ risk at their last contact."
