Patient Involvement in Clinical Audit
Following on from the success of the first Clinical Auditorium a second mini conference has already been agreed. Clinical Audit Support Centre and Healthcare Conferences UK will be running the next event and looking at how best to involve patients in the clinical audit process. Health and social care staff are constantly learning how best to engage with their patients and include them as partners within clinical audit programmes. Patients, carers and the wider public give a unique perspective to help understand healthcare experiences and provide their input, energy and ideas to individual projects or across entire work programmes.
*** We are pleased to have Dawn Chamberlain, Director, Clinical Improvement & Co-Chair of Clinical Audit Beneficial Changes Lead - COVID-19 Recovery, NHS England and NHS Improvement, confirmed to speak ***
The event will include:
- A brief overview of progress by clinical audit teams to meaningfully involve patients
- National perspectives to involve patients in quality improvement activity
- Local staff explaining how they work with public and patient partners
- Patient partners and their experience of working with healthcare colleagues
- Polls and breakout sessions to gain instant feedback
This will be an interactive event with all attendees invited to actively participate and give valuable feedback that will subsequently be widely shared. The aim is to provide local and national staff with the opportunity to come together in a spirit of collaboration. We will celebrate the excellence in patient involvement in clinical audit but also look at what improvements could be made for the benefit of all.
