Are you a new or aspiring Caldicott Guardian?
This conference is aimed at aspiring or new Caldicott Guardians who have been in post less than a year. There are now more than 22,000 Caldicott Guardians in place in health, social care and beyond.
Following the success of our previous Caldicott Guardian Events, and feedback from our regular Caldicott Training Masterclasses, this conference aims to bring new and aspiring Caldicott Guardians together to understand current issues and the national context, and to develop their role as an effective Caldicott Guardian. Chaired by Christopher Fincken, Member of the National Caldicott Guardian Council this conference will give you the opportunity to fully understand the role and function of the Caldicott Guardian, to develop your role as the Caldicott Guardian in the organisation, and to practice the skills involved in Caldicott Decision Making.
The conference will equip delegates with legal updates and learning from both experienced Caldicott Guardians and those recently appointed. There will also be a focus on planning for the role and developing your skills as a deputy or aspiring Caldicott Guardian.
“I am keenly aware of the vital part that Caldicott Guardians play in ensuring people’s data is used responsibly to support the delivery of better care. Having more staff in the system to advise on the ethical and legal aspects of data sharing benefits us all.”
Dr Nicola Byrne, National Data Guardian for Health and Social Care, 30th August 2022
