All four are underpinned by consultancy as the foundations of putting expertise in place across systems of health and social care to sustain quality.”

RCN

“Nurse Consultants are ideally placed to lead on the transformation agenda….nurse consultants were designed to provide a clinical career pathway which both strengthened leadership, improved patient outcomes and enhanced the quality of services and care”

Professor John Unsworth Chair of Council, The Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing 2025

“Nurse consultants and consultant midwives will play a vital role in the Neighbourhood Health Service, providing advanced clinical care and system leadership, driving improvements in care quality, and advancing professional practice.
