Training, education and clinical supervision is an integral part of consultant life and can have benefits for consultants in terms of satisfaction and reduced burnout. However the recent GMC report, and Royal College of Physicians Survey have both demonstrated concerns from doctors in terms of the time and capacity available for training, education and supervision. This conference will provide practical and skills development for doctors as medical educators in order to safeguard the effective training and support of the medical workforce.
“Doctors need to be satisfied, supported, and see a hopeful future for themselves, or we may risk losing their talent and expertise altogether.”
Charlie Massey Chief Executive of the GMC August 2025
“The experiences of medical educators and doctors in training paint a worrying picture of risk to the future supply of the workforce.”
General Medical Council August 2025
“We also want to be effective in our work with others to develop more, better supported and more diverse educators, trainers, and supervisors. This is vital to maintain the pipeline of future clinical and leadership skills we will need.”
GMC December 2025
