Understanding and Applying the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards in Care Homes

Tue, 13 Aug 2024

Virtual, Online

The number of DoLS applications made by health and social care providers continues to increase and a report published in March 2024 by Age UK highlights the huge challenges facing providers around MCA and DoLS assessments. It highlights the need for additional training for care home managers, to ensure that the rights of older people are protected.

Join us for this full day conference which has been designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to effectively apply DoLS within care homes, ensuring resident rights and best interests are protected. Throughout the day, you will hear from expert speakers with legislation updates, advice on assessing capacity, making applications, preparing for inspection and implementing ongoing monitoring.

With plenty of time for virtual networking and Q&A throughout the day, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to get answers to the questions that matter to you.

Who should attend?
Care home managers, staff, social workers, legal professionals, and advocates involved in caring for residents who may lack mental capacity.
