Dr Justin Kua talks about the impact of Covid-19 infection and outcomes following emergency surgery, and accomodating risks after Covid-19 infection.

In the presentation, Dr Kua shows the figures of adjusted mortality risks in emergency surgeries with SARS Cov-2, these being significatly higher than risks in emergency surgeries without SARS Cov-2. Data shows patients who show symptoms of the virus, have a higher risk in comparison to patients who do no show any symptoms of the coronavirus. Hence, symptoms is a key thing you need to be aware of when recovering a patient after surgery.
